Overview#
Starboard is a hall of fame your members vote for. React to a message with the starboard emoji, and once enough people have done the same, Iris reposts it in the starboard channel with a link back to the original.
Any emoji works, standard or custom to your server, and the threshold is yours to set. Self-stars can be refused so nobody nominates themselves, and channels you exclude never reach the board.
The dashboard tracks what the board is doing over time: how many messages were starred, how many stars were given, and who keeps landing on it.
Setup#
- Make a channel for the board that everyone can read and only Iris posts in.
- Open the dashboard and go to Engagement > Starboard, then turn the module on.
- Set the Starboard Channel.
- Pick the Reaction Emoji and the Threshold.
- Style the repost under Embed Appearance, watching the live preview.
- Add any channels that should never reach the board under Ignored Channels, then save.

Tips and gotchas#
Nothing reaches the board.
Check the threshold, that members are using the configured emoji, that the channel is not on the Ignored Channels list, and that Iris can read history there.
A custom emoji does not count.
Iris has to be in the server that emoji belongs to. Use one from this server.
Can a message be removed from the board?
Delete the repost in the starboard channel. The original is untouched.
Do stars still count after it is posted?
Yes. The count on the repost keeps up with the reactions on the original.
