Adding Iris to your server

Before you start#

Discord only lets you add a bot to a server where you hold Manage Server. If the server you want does not appear in the invite picker, you do not have that permission there yet, and the server owner has to either grant it or run the invite themselves.

Nothing else is needed. There is no hosting step, no token to paste and no plan to pick.

Add Iris#

Press Add to Discord in the site header, or open the invite from the dashboard.
Choose the server from the picker. Only servers where you hold Manage Server are listed.
Leave the requested permissions as they are and approve.
Complete the Discord captcha if you are shown one.
You land back on the dashboard with the server now listed as active.

What to check once it joins#

Open Server Settings > Roles and drag Iris above every role it will have to manage.
Confirm Iris can see and post in the channels you plan to point a module at.
Run /help in any channel. A reply means the slash commands have synced.
Open the dashboard, pick the server, and turn on your first module.

Common questions#

The server is missing from the invite picker.

You need Manage Server in it. Ask the owner to grant that role permission, or to run the invite themselves.

Iris joined but does not respond.

Check that it can read and send messages in the channel you are testing in, and that the channel is not on the ignore list in command management.

Can I add Iris to more than one server?

Yes. There is no server limit, and each server keeps its own settings, prefix and language.

How do I remove Iris?

Kick it like any other member. Your settings are kept, so inviting it back later restores the server exactly as you left it.
