Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers every payment made to the operator of Iris ("we", "us"): premium plans bought for a Discord server, and advertising bought on the verification page. It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read with them and with our Privacy Policy.

In short: you can cancel a plan at any time from the dashboard and keep it until the end of the period you have paid for; new customers can have a full refund within the first 14 days; after that, payments for a period already started are not normally refundable, though we will always look at a fair case.

2. What You Are Buying

A premium plan is a monthly subscription that entitles one Discord server to a set of raised limits and retention windows for as long as it is active. It is billed in pounds sterling (GBP) through our payment provider, Stripe, and renews automatically on the same day each month until it is cancelled.

A plan attaches to a server, not to an account. It buys access to software features for a period. It does not buy ownership of anything, a guarantee of uptime, immunity from these Terms or from enforcement, or any right to a particular feature continuing to exist. See section 8 of the Terms of Service.

3. Cancelling a Plan

You can cancel at any time from the billing section of the dashboard, which opens your Stripe billing portal. Cancelling is immediate as an instruction, but the plan itself runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and then stops. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.

When a plan ends, the server returns to the free tier. Configuration is not deleted, but anything that was raised by the plan drops back to free limits, and history kept beyond the free retention window may be removed by the normal retention sweep. Export anything you want to keep before the period ends.

Cancelling a plan does not delete your server's data. See the Privacy Policy for how to request deletion.

4. The 14 Day Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of buying it. We apply that right to every customer, wherever you are, on a first purchase:

  • Within 14 days of your first payment for a server - tell us and we will cancel the plan and refund that payment in full.
  • Strictly speaking - because you ask us to start the plan immediately at checkout, the law lets us keep a proportion for the days you used it. We do not normally do that on a first purchase. We reserve the right to apply the proportionate deduction where an account has used the period heavily or repeatedly.
  • Renewals - the 14 day right applies to the contract, not to each automatic renewal. A renewal is covered by section 5 instead.

To use this right, email us from the address you paid with, or contact us in the support server, within 14 days. You do not have to give a reason.

5. Refunds After the First 14 Days

Outside the period above, payments for a billing period that has already begun are non-refundable, and cancelling part way through a month does not produce a partial refund. This is the ordinary position for a monthly subscription: you keep the plan for the rest of the period you paid for.

We will normally refund, in full or in part, where:

  • You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice for the same period.
  • A payment was taken for a server the plan was never applied to because something on our side failed.
  • A renewal was taken within the last few days on a server you had clearly stopped using, and you tell us promptly. We would rather refund that than have you dispute it.
  • A paid feature was substantially broken for a significant part of the period and we could not fix it.
  • The law where you live gives you a right to a refund that this policy does not already meet. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.

Anything outside those cases is at our discretion. We look at each request on its facts and we will tell you the reason for our answer.

6. What We Do Not Refund

  • Downtime - the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" with no uptime guarantee. Short outages, Discord outages, maintenance and third-party platform failures are not refundable.
  • Feature changes - features are added, changed, limited and removed over time. A plan is not a promise that a particular feature will keep existing.
  • Not using it - forgetting to cancel, a server going quiet, or removing the Bot without cancelling, other than the goodwill case in section 5.
  • Removing the Bot - removing the Bot from a server does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in the dashboard or the billing portal as well.
  • Enforcement - if we suspend, restrict or ban an account or a server for a breach of the Terms of Service, including exploitation, alt-account abuse, ban evasion or payment fraud, any plan ends with it and no refund is due.
  • Buyer's remorse after use - a full month used, then a refund request, outside the cases above.
  • Comped, gifted or promotional plans - a plan granted at no charge, or bought at a discount by someone else for you, has nothing to refund to you.
  • Third-party payments - money you paid to anyone other than us. We do not sell Iris plans through resellers, and we cannot refund what we never received.

7. Upgrades, Downgrades and Price Changes

  • Upgrading - takes effect immediately. Stripe prorates the change, so you are charged only the difference for the rest of the current period.
  • Downgrading - takes effect at the next renewal. You keep the higher plan for the period you have paid for, and we do not refund the difference for the remainder of it.
  • Price changes - a change to the price of a plan takes effect at your next renewal, never mid-period. Cancel before that renewal if you do not want to continue at the new price.

8. Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over several days and emails you. The plan stays active while it retries. If it ultimately fails, the subscription lapses and the server returns to the free tier. Nothing is owed and no debt is created; you can start a new plan whenever you like.

9. Duplicate and Mistaken Payments

If you were charged twice, charged for the wrong server, or charged on a card that was not yours to use, contact us and we will refund it. Tell us as soon as you notice: we can find a recent payment quickly, and an old one takes longer to trace.

10. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback or a payment dispute with your bank. A refund from us is faster than a dispute, and we would rather resolve it directly.

Filing a chargeback instead of contacting us may result in the immediate loss of the plan and a permanent ban of the account and the server it was bought for, under section 8 of the Terms of Service. Where a dispute is filed in bad faith, or the plan was used for the period being disputed, we will contest it with our records of the purchase and its use.

11. Advertising Purchases

Sponsored slots on the verification page are sold directly by us, one advertiser at a time, for a fixed placement period, under the Advertising Terms. They are separate from premium plans and the rules differ:

  • Submitting a booking costs nothing. It is a request: we review the creative by hand, and a booking we decline is never charged.
  • An accepted booking is held for 48 hours. Leaving it unpaid is not a charge and not a debt; it simply expires and the dates go back on sale.
  • A booking may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the placement goes live.
  • Once live, a booking is refunded pro rata for the unserved part of the period if you cancel, and in full for any part of it we failed to serve.
  • We may refuse or pull a creative that breaks our advertising rules, is unlawful, misleads, or targets a protected group. A refusal before going live is refunded in full; a creative pulled after going live is refunded pro rata unless it was unlawful or deliberately misrepresented to us, in which case no refund is due.
  • Delivery figures are the impression and click counts recorded by our own server. Those counts are what a booking is measured and billed against.

12. How to Request a Refund

Email yourbotdev.daniel@gmail.com, or open a ticket in the support server, with:

  • The Discord server ID the plan was bought for.
  • Your Discord username and user ID.
  • The date and amount of the payment, and the email or card last four digits it was made with.
  • What you would like us to do, and why.

We aim to answer within 5 working days. Approved refunds go back through Stripe to the original payment method, normally within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank. We cannot refund to a different card, account or person.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. The version in force when you paid is the version that applies to that payment, and a change never reduces a statutory right you already had.

14. Contact

For anything about billing, cancellation or refunds, email yourbotdev.daniel@gmail.com or contact us in the Bot's support server on Discord.
