Frequently asked questions

Iris is in invite-only beta. You can add it to any server, but it stays locked there until an administrator redeems an invite code. Until then it only answers /redeem, /beta and /help, and the dashboard for that server stays locked too. Servers Iris was already in when the beta started keep working.

From somebody who already has Iris: every server that redeems a code gets three of its own to pass on. Codes are not handed out on request. If you do not know anyone with one, join the waitlist on the early access page. Server owners can also apply to be a founder at /early/founders.

Add Iris to the server first, then run /redeem with the code in that server, or sign in on the early access page, pick the server and enter it there. You need Administrator in the server. It unlocks straight away, in Discord and on the dashboard.

Run /beta in Discord or open the early access page to see your codes. Send the invite link rather than the bare code: it opens the redeem page with the code already filled in. Each code unlocks one server, once, and each person can unlock one server with a code.

A free paid plan for a set time after public launch, and 50 percent off your first paid month. Founders get the most, then anyone with a code, then the waitlist. The free months start on launch day, so none are spent during the beta. The early access guide has the full table.

Press Add to Discord, pick the server and approve. Only servers where you hold Manage Server appear in the picker. There is nothing to host, no token to paste and no plan to pick. Step by step: adding Iris.

Run /setup in the server. It sets up the basics in one go (a log channel, your staff roles, moderation, logging, automod and anti-raid) and changes nothing until you confirm. Then open the dashboard to fine-tune those or turn on anything else, such as welcomes, tickets or verification.

Because the exact permissions a server needs depend on which modules it turns on. If you would rather grant less, approve the invite and then edit the Iris role. The permissions guide lists what each module needs.

Discord does not let a bot act on anyone whose highest role sits above its own. Open Server Settings, then Roles, and drag the Iris role above every role it has to manage.

Yes. Every module is independent, and most ship switched off. Turn on the ones you want and ignore the rest. Switching a module off keeps its settings for when you turn it back on.

Yes, and every module is on the free plan. Paid plans never unlock a feature. They raise the ceilings on how many of each thing a server can have, keep backups and history for longer, and remove the sponsored slots from your verification page. Prices are on the premium page.

No. A plan belongs to the one server it was bought for, and it stays with that server if the person who bought it leaves. Any administrator of the server can manage it from Billing on the dashboard.

The server drops back to Free at the end of the month you already paid for, and nothing is deleted. Anything above a free ceiling keeps working, and you can keep, edit or remove it. You just cannot add more until you are back under the ceiling.

A first payment for a server can be refunded in full within 14 days. The refund policy covers the rest, including duplicate charges and failed payments.

Anyone with Manage Server there. Sign in to the dashboard with Discord and you see every server where you hold it. If one is missing, reload once, then sign out and back in to refresh the list.

No, but it is the faster path for anything with more than a couple of settings, and some things, like designing an embed or a ticket panel, only make sense there. Quick actions such as moderation, giveaways and polls stay in Discord.

The setup commands for modules like welcome messages, self-roles, logging, verification and social notifications moved to the dashboard. Many of those modules still keep a prefix version for quick changes, and each module's docs page lists the commands it has today.

Every command runs both ways. Type / in Discord to pick from a list, or use your server prefix, a dot by default, as in .ban. Slash commands can take a few minutes to appear after Iris first joins; the prefix works straight away. More in prefix vs slash.

Yes, both per server. Use /prefix or the Bot Settings page on the dashboard for the prefix, and /language set to pick one of 21 languages. The website itself is in English only.

Yes. Command management turns a command off for the whole server on both paths at once, and can make Iris ignore commands in chosen channels.

Yes. The Danger Zone on the dashboard exports a server's configuration to a file and imports it into another server you manage.

Moderation and case history, automod, anti-raid, anti-link, logging, web verification, tickets, application forms, welcome messages, auto and self-roles, levels, giveaways, polls, starboard, invite tracking, social notifications, custom commands and more. YouTube, Twitch, Kick, TikTok, Reddit and X. Each one posts to the channel you pick, with the ping and message you choose, and is set up under Notifications on the dashboard.

New members press a button and finish on a short web page before they get access. That page is what lets Iris spot alt accounts and, if you turn it on, block VPNs. Setup and the options are in the verification guide.

In the documentation. Every module has a page with its settings, its commands, the permissions it needs and answers to the problems people actually run into.

Discord user and server IDs, your settings, and the records the modules you turn on produce, such as moderation cases, giveaway entries and invite counts. Message content is kept only where a feature you enabled needs it: message logs, ticket transcripts and messages removed by automod. The Privacy Policy is the full list.

No. It stores a one-way hash of it, which can be compared with other hashes but cannot be turned back into an address, along with a hashed browser fingerprint. Both exist only to catch alt accounts.

No. Settings are kept, so adding Iris back restores the server as you left it. To have the data erased, send a deletion request by email to yourbotdev.daniel@gmail.com. A paid plan keeps billing until you cancel it, so cancel that first if you are leaving for good.

No. Checkout and the billing portal are Stripe's own pages. Iris only knows which plan a server is on and when it renews.

Check the status page first. If Iris is up, make sure it can read and send messages in that channel and that the channel is not on the ignore list in command management. Try the same command with the prefix too: if that works, the slash commands are still syncing.

Run /bugreport in any server with Iris and describe what you did and what happened. It goes straight to the developer.
