Overview#
Twitch notifications announce a streamer the moment they go live. Iris checks every 5 minutes, and posts once per stream rather than once per check.
The announcement carries the stream title and a link, and Iris adds the game, the viewer count and the stream preview on its own. Each streamer has its own destination channel and its own optional ping role.
The design is written once for the platform and reused by every streamer you add, unless you turn the shared design off for one of them.
Setup#
- Open the dashboard and go to Notifications > Twitch.
- Design the announcement under Announcement design and save it. This has to exist before a streamer can be added.
- Press Add notification.
- Enter the Streamer name, the username from their channel URL after
twitch.tv/. A full URL also works. - Pick the channel it Posts to.
- Under Advanced settings, set a Ping role if you want one.

Tips and gotchas#
The streamer was not found.
Use the username exactly as it appears after twitch.tv/, not their display name if the two differ.
How quickly does it post?
Within about 5 minutes of going live.
Can I announce a whole team?
Add each streamer as its own entry. They can all post to the same channel.
Nothing has posted at all.
Check the announcement design has been saved once, and that Iris can send and embed in the destination channel.
