Overview#
Levels rewards the members who keep your server alive. Every message earns a little XP, XP adds up to levels, and levels can hand out roles on their own. Members check their progress with a rank card and see where they stand on the leaderboard.
The whole module is free on every plan: message XP, level-up messages, rank cards, the leaderboard and up to ten level role rewards. Premium adds voice XP, XP boosts and your own rank card background.
Setup#
-
Open the dashboard and go to Engagement > Levels, then turn the module on.
-
Set how much XP a message gives and the cooldown between messages that count.
-
Choose where level-up messages go, and write your own if you like.
-
Add Role rewards for the levels that should unlock something, then save.
-
Make sure the Iris role sits above every reward role, or Iris cannot hand them out.
How XP works#
- A message earns a random amount between the least and most XP you set, 15 to 25 by default.
- Only one message per cooldown counts, 60 seconds by default, so spam does not pay.
- Bots, webhooks and anything in a no-XP channel or from a no-XP role earn nothing.
- Level 1 takes 100 XP, and each level after takes a little more than the last.

Permissions#
Can I reset everyone's XP?
Yes, from the Leaderboard tab. Roles already given are not taken away.
Do members keep their XP if they leave?
Yes. If they come back, they pick up where they left off.
Why did a member not get their reward role?
The Iris role has to be above the reward role in your server settings, and Iris needs Manage Roles.
