Overview#
Log Viewer is the searchable record of everything Iris logs: message edits and deletions, joins and leaves, bans, timeouts, role grants, channel and role edits, voice moves, invites, emojis, threads and moderator commands. Filter by exact event type, member, channel, time range and free text instead of scrolling a Discord log channel.
It is a reader, not a recorder. Logging decides which events are written down; this page is how you find one again afterwards.
Setup#
Nothing to set up. Open Moderation > Log Viewer on the dashboard and the most recent events load. Only events enabled in logging are recorded, so turn on the ones you want to be able to search later.
Settings#
25, 50, 100 or 200. Load more appends the next page.Commands#
Log Viewer is a dashboard page. It ships no commands.
Permissions#
Nothing beyond what logging already needs, since this page reads the same events. You need Manage Server to open the dashboard for the server.
Tips and gotchas#
The list is empty.
Either logging is off, or the event types you are looking for are turned off, so nothing was recorded.
An event type shows 0.
Nothing of that kind has been recorded under the current search, channel, member and time filters. Widen the time range or clear the other filters.
Older entries look thinner than new ones.
Events recorded before the unified event log existed only carry the message and member fields. Everything logged since carries the channel, target and moderator too.
Does Live reload lose my place?
Live re-runs the current filter every 15 seconds and resets to the first page. Leave it off while you are reading back through history.
