Overview#
Self roles posts a list of roles that members give themselves. Members pick with reactions, buttons or a dropdown, whichever the list is set to. Taking a role and dropping it again are the same action twice. No staff involvement, no command to remember.
Lists are built in a three-step designer: choose the roles and their order, style the embed, then post it. A server can run as many lists as it needs, so colours, pronouns, ping groups and regions each get their own message.
Editing a list afterwards re-syncs the posted message. Roles you added appear, roles you removed are cleared, and nothing has to be reposted. Switching between reactions, buttons and a dropdown re-syncs the same way.
Setup#

The slash group is retired in favour of the designer. The prefix commands remain so lists are still reachable when the dashboard is not.

Tips and gotchas#
Reacting or clicking does nothing.
The role sits above Iris in the role list, or the message was posted by a different bot. Check the role order first.
Can I use buttons or a dropdown instead of reactions?
Yes. Set it under How members pick roles on the Appearance step, or run .selfroles mode <list> buttons (or dropdown). Save and the posted message swaps over.
How do I show the role mention instead of the bold name?
Turn on Role mentions on the Appearance step, or run .selfroles mentions <list> on.
I added a role but its reaction is missing.
Save the list. Saving re-syncs the posted message and adds the new reaction.
Can members hold more than one role from a list?
Yes. Each reaction is independent, so a member can take as many as they like.
Someone removed the reactions.
Only members with Manage Messages can clear them. Save the list to put them back.
