Announce new videos and live streams from TikTok creators.

Overview#

TikTok notifications announce new videos from the creators you follow. Iris checks every 5 minutes and posts a watch link with the creator name and the caption.

TikTok works differently from the other platforms here: there is one channel and one announcement design for the whole server, and a list of creators underneath it. Every creator you add posts to that one channel.

TikTok LIVE is announced too, on a switch of its own with its own announcement design. New videos are announced either way, so turning live announcements off only stops the stream notice.

Setup#

  1. Open the dashboard and go to Notifications > TikTok.

  2. Turn on Enable TikTok notifications.

  3. Under Notification settings, pick the channel it Posts to.

  4. Design the announcement, set a Ping role under Advanced settings if you want one, and press Save settings.

  5. Leave Announce live streams on if you want a notice when a creator goes live, and customise the Live stream announcement if the built-in wording is not what you want.

  6. Under Creators, enter a Username as it appears after tiktok.com/@ and press Add.

Variables#

The same three tokens work in both designs. In the live announcement {title} is the stream title and {url} links to the stream.

Tips and gotchas#

The creator was not found.

Use the username exactly as it appears after tiktok.com/@, without the @. A full profile URL also works.

How quickly does it post?

Within about 5 minutes of the video going up.

Can I add creators before setting a channel?

No. Save the channel and the design first, then the creators list unlocks.
